Main lines prioritize fast water cutting, abrasion resistance and low stretch (e.g. TORAY A78C); leaders prioritize softness and tensile strength (e.g. A78N/A90W). Use low-stretch stiff lines for pond fast-bite action and soft mains for wary fish. Fluorocarbon (S785) suits leaders; PE suits long casts and lures. Match the line to the conditions.
